Strange Union

Strange Union is formed in early 2011 in Cyprus. 

Band plays variety of rock styles but main focus is on alternative, indie rock. 

Band has released an album 'in my head' in 2012 and playing in venues, events, festivals ever since. Album recorded with the songs written by founder ex-member Mehmet Özseyfiler and recorded in re-chord studios Nicosia. 

Founder ex-vocals Orçun Benli was the singer on the album. 

Band reunited after pandemic with new members but also two of fhe founders. Olcay Gündoğar (founder- lead gutiars) and Umut Zeytin (founder- bass guitars and back vocals) joined with their old friend Mustafa Tangül (drums) and one of Olcay's student Said Tuna (guitars). 

Band made big change on vocals and invited Pinky (Pembegül Bayram) as vocalist. From male vocals to female vocals did change the sound but raised the energy of the band and motivated us for wider range of songs and styles to be played.

The music from Muse, Arctic Monkeys and HIM particular have influenced the band's sound. T

he musical backgrounds of all members are very different, hence the name "strange union". For example, drummer Tangül has been playing power metal for years, Olcay is influenced by classic rock bands, Pinky has been singing pop songs for years... Umit Zetin has played symphonic metal. All of Band Members come from different eras, but they united in a strange union and prefering to play alternative and intependent rock music.

Strange Union is back on stage from december 2022.
